Just wanted to jump on and say hi in what must be my first forum post in over a decade!
I've been fascinated by Linux for years, but finally took the plunge in wanting to resurrect an old Macbook. It was between Mint and Elementary, and so far I'm glad I chose Mint -- feels like the right place between Windows and macOS for me.
I'm also pleasantly surprised I managed to get Cinnamon running; I've used computers for much of my life, but never been super technical behind GUIs or under the hood. This project saw me replacing the old hard drive with an SSD as well as booting/rebooting/re-installing multiple OS's; lots of learning and inspo for myself to keep trying and tinkering.
