Linux Mint 21.3 and HID devices

Hi
I would like to use several hid devices for rfid tag readings. Currently they all go into the same column with tag read only. The devices are all the same vid pid.

How do I have a usb hub position number for the read tagged in some way with the tag number. A prefix/suffix or id in adjacent column to read data.

There is this post re similar . Way beyond my comprehension. Would it be of any use to me to resolve above.
