IRC down?

Last few days I was able to connect to irc.spotchat.org fine. Today HexChat has been repeatedly trying to connect for hours with the following error message.

Looking up irc.spotchat.org
* Unknown host. Maybe you misspelt it?

I see this happened several times in past and people said they could still connect to the IP address, which I tried with one mentioned years ago on the forum, with similar/same error message, but I can't even find if it's still correct, with the following error messages.

All other sites (20+ email sites, two NNTP/Usenet servers, 20 IRC networks, hundreds websites) work fine. I don't know if particular DNS servers couldn't find it or if nslookup checks main DNS servers.
