Slow boot after SSD upgrade

Post by AndreZoio »

Hello, I upgraded my laptop's ssd from a 512 GB Corsair MP510 to a 2 TB Samsung 980 Pro and the boot is very slow. My laptop is a Dell G3 3500.
The benchmark shows that the read and write speeds are normal.

Here are the results of systemd-analyze:

Can you go to Menu, System Reports.
Click the System Information tab on the left.
Click 'Copy' at the bottom.
In your reply, paste the info and 'Submit' the info.

Also have you rebooted a few times and got the same result?

Yes, I rebooted a bunch of times, the slow boot began after I cloned my old ssd into the new one, it hangs on the LM logo and the press CTRL + C to cancel filesystem verification. With my old ssd it took less than 10 seconds.

Re: Slow boot after SSD upgrade

Post by AndreZoio »

Looked around some other threads and noticed that my swap used the wrong UUID, then the boot got a little shorter but the kernel still ate a bunch of time, changed to the legacy kernel (5.15.0-97), then the boot time got normal.
But when using verbose mode at boot, it still seems to indicate some kind of time out.
Maybe it is a bug with the newest 6.5 kernel?
