Panasonic KX MD-1500 MFU

Post by vistad »

A friend of mine asked me to help her install the Panasonic KX MD-1500 MFU printer driver on Linux Mint Mate 21.2.
In her Printers there was a "Panasonic KX MD-1500 MFU" object marked with a green mark as the "Deafult Printer", but it did not work.
We deleted it and tried to reinstall it.
The system sees the Panasonic KX MD-1500 MFU printer as connected to USB.
Clicking on it invokes a dialog box saying "Looking for a driver" - which ends after a timeout with a message "Could not find the driver"
We donwloaded and unpacked the tar.gz driver file from the Panasonic website and followed the instructions to install it.
The installation script outputs the message "Too many arguments" - and that's the end of the procedure.
We attempted to install the Printer once again - with the same result.
As to Linux Mint, I am surprised that the installation master, being unable to find the driver (Why, why, why is it unable to find the driver?!) does not offer me the opportunity to show it the driver .ppd file!
How is one supposed to deal with the situation?
Thanks!

Am I right to assume you followed this:-

Are you trying to install via LAN or USB?
