Am I beating a dead dog here?
Briefly I was going to do something about backup storage, I had access to 4, 2TB 2.5" drives. I came across external drive Patriot Javelin at my local RecyclePC. I didn't know anything about this external storage and was not really familiar with what it would take to drive it. So it was take it or leave it.
Back home, I've now made the 4 adapter trays to mount the 2.5" drives into the plastic 3.5" Javelin slide in trays. The drives all connect as indicated by the flashing blue lights on the front of the unit but other than that there's no sign of my system 'seeing' the PJS.
Research shows that the Patriot Javelin S4 (PJS) was designed for MS or Apple systems @2012.
Websearch comes up with this seemingly best approach ... https://github.com/alexeicolin/javelin.
I don't understand whether this would work for me and frankly it's beyond my skill level.
Am I wasting my time with this and should look for another linux friendly external drive to mount my 4, 2 TB drives in?
thanks for comments and suggestions.
