Re: When loading mint in any mode (through USB) My PC Restarts (DUALBOOTING)

Some more context, I haven’t installed linuxmint if that isn’t clear. I’m booting through my external drive (2TB external drive). I might try on a smaller drive soon. If that works, I’ll post my answer here

EDIT: Nothing changed.

I did some research on your processor and seeing reports that it is supported. I think what I would do next is check for a bios update to your computer and upgrade the bios. Then check if your still having the issue.

I run a Ryzen 7 1800x and bought it when it was released. I had the same issue and had to wait a little bit for an updated kernel to support it. However, It appears your processor was released in 2022 so should be ok.

What would help is if you posted the full output of your hardware to look further into this issue. Use the following command if you can boot to a term window or what ever.

Code: Select all

inxi -Fxpmrz
Ryzen x1800 Asus Prime x370-Pro 32 gigs Ram RX480 graphics
Dell PE T610, Dell PE T710
- List your hardware Profile: inxi -Fxpmrz
MeshCentral * Virtualbox * Debian * InvoiceNinja * NextCloud * Linux since kernel 2.0.36
