System didn't boot after activating firewall

Today I activated the firewall in the installed standard tool "Firewall configuration" without making any further settings, after which the system - LM 21.3 Cinnamon - no longer booted.
I then used Timeshift to restore the system with an earlier restore point. My question: How could this happen?

One problematic detail, but it's probably unrelated to your issue: your root partition / is much too full (91.3 %). No Linux partition should ever be filled above 80 %, in order to prevent file fragmentation and other space-related problems.

So whatever you do: free up space on /. This page might help to do that safely:

Edit: Also, that unofficial megasync repo in your sources list looks suspicious. Might just be that it contains the kind of weird sh*tty stuff that causes problems when a firewall is activated....

By "official" I mean the official repos of Linux Mint.

Anyway: all is well that ends well. Good = good.

As a final tip, I recommend to turn off the useless and spammy log of UFW, which sometimes creates huge space-hogging logs:
