How to update Cinnamon to fix Panel moving issue?

Post by holjab »

Hello all,

I'm having an issue where a panel moves to the wrong place after right clicking and selecting move.

The issue has been logged on github and a commit was submitted to solve the issue last month. https://github.com/linuxmint/cinnamon/c ... a824927f8d

How can I update my cinnamon to include this fix?

I'm currently running Cinnamon 6.0.4 which was installed 10/02. I can see that there is a newer version (also 6.0.4) released on 15/02 but I'm not sure how to update to it as it doesn't show in the update manager or under apt list --upgradable. https://github.com/linuxmint/cinnamon-d ... ter.mint21

Many thanks.

Re: How to update Cinnamon to fix Panel moving issue?

Post by spamegg »

You just have to wait.

Not all internal releases / commits on Github are delivered to the users. Those releases don't even get a new minor version number.
They wait for a few more changes to pile up, then release to the users. When that happens there will be a new minor version number like 6.0.5 or higher.
