Today I saw this after trying to use a wifi adapter that doesn't seem to work with my system:
To reproduce this I simply click on any wifi network that I haven't connected to before, even with the inbuilt adapter of my laptop.
Then go to network manager and see that it has added the Automatic <SSID> connection without a password.
This affects both the applet on my panel and the network settings wifi list.
Why does this happen and how do I make it stop?
EDIT: Seems like having another Wifi adapter connected has exacerbated the problem. with only one, it does create these connection but not duplicates. Still, I should get a password prompt before it just saves it as it should know if the network is protected or not, no?
Clicking on a Wifi connection adds automatic connections without asking password
