Wifi not available in settings nor is the wifi icon?

Post by Rodolf »

I have tried the majority of solutions online and none of them worked.
My laptop was windows 7 I think and it had wifi normally, after mint, only cable is an option.
This is a command I saw you're supposed to use:

I'm not so sure why there would be a difference after installing Linux, since the piece inside the laptop exists. Could it be something with how Linux is detecting it or something?
Also, I changed my other laptop to Kali and had no problems, I assume it's a mint thing then?
This laptop is a lot older though, so maybe mint doesn't work well on it?

No wifi shows there either. Are you able to remove & reinsert the wifi card? That sometimes will wake it up. If not, you can get a usb adapter that works in linux.
