Intel Wireless-AC 9260 Bluetooth Adapter

Post by staubgold »

Hello folks,
after using LM for years on different devices without any flaws I'm stuck with activating Bluetooth on a Lenovo Thinkpad 11e Yoga.
Bluetooth works correctly on Win11, Fedora, Manjaro & the latest Ubuntu with this machine, but I'm not able to activate BT in LM...
It seems to be the same as in viewtopic.php?t=406518
The guys @arch mention there could be Problems with BT https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Lenovo ... #Bluetooth and the output of rfkill is exactly as stated there:

Code: Select all

$ rfkill

ID TYPE DEVICE SOFT HARD
 0 bluetooth tpacpi_bluetooth_sw unblocked blocked
 2 wlan phy0 unblocked unblocked
13 bluetooth hci0 unblocked unblocked
Any ideas why it's working with Ubuntu, but not with LM? Wich differences are there between Ubuntu & LM when it comes to BT?

If useful here's my specs:

It could be the newer kernel in the latest Ubuntu, you could use the Update Manager, View menu, linux kernels to install the newest 6.5 kernel and reboot

If that doesn't work try

Code: Select all

echo "blacklist thinkpad_acpi"|sudo tee /etc/modprobe.d/thinkpad_acpi.conf
Reboot

That last command worked for me. I have not idea what it meant, but it worked.

@JeremyB thank you very much for your help!

installing new kernel & reboot did nothing specific - which I expected, because I already tried the "edge"-ISO with no effect

the other provided option [

Code: Select all

echo "blacklist thinkpad_acpi"|sudo tee /etc/modprobe.d/thinkpad_acpi.conf
& reboot] was very interesting as it did something to bluetooth, but didn't solve the problem: the blueman-manager does start without errors but does not show all BT-devices - only a few from my neighbourhood, but not my own...
on my separate Thinkpad T480 with LinuxMint-Cinnamon bluetooth shows much more devices and works like a charm

I thought I could do the trick by installing the Cinnamon-version of Fedora, but guess what: bluetooth is broken too
the same happened with Manjaro-Cinnamon & Ubuntu-Cinnamon: BT is broken
Ubuntu-Cinnamon says:

Code: Select all

Malformed MSFT vendor event: 0x02
only the "normal" GNOME-versions of Fedora, Manjaro & Ubuntu have BT working out of the box on this machine/device...
