Today, I installed Linux Mint 21.3 on my Asus GL552VW laptop. I completely wiped Windows 10 from the drive. Everything works perfectly, but the sound from the built-in speakers isn't working. I can hear the sound only when I plug in the headphones. I feel like I have tried everything that I've seen on this forum about sound issues and nothing worked. I tried hdajackretask, installing a newer kernel, installing an older kernel, pavucontrol, raising volume on headphones and unmuting them in alsamixer. Feels like I exhausted every possible option.
