Is there a version of ttf-mscore-fonts package that won't try to install ubuntu-pro upgrade nagging? That's the reason I left Ubuntu.
Is everyone just pulling down the .deb from Debian 12 and installing that? Getting it before Ubuntu has had a chance to contaminate it?

Reason: Moved from Installation & Boot to Software & Applications because this is not a problem installing or booting Linux Mint.

This should work:

(item 1.8 )
Note that it's not enough to simply use the Debian package. More is needed to keep those unspeakable Ubuntu packages from creeping in afterwards.
Which is of course a bloody shame, but it is what it is. If it can't be done the way it should, it should be done the way it can....

Part of my LM install is to run this in a terminal:
I get absolutely no nagging regarding this, so I don't even know how that nagging would show up.
Code: Select all
apt install ttf-mscorefonts-installer fonts-crosextra-carlito fonts-crosextra-caladea

The thing is, that this pulls in some extra Ubuntu crud that you don't need or want. Namely pieces of Ubuntu's update manager and of Ubuntu Pro.mikeflan wrote: ⤴Wed Mar 27, 2024 8:36 pm Part of my LM install is to run this in a terminal:I get absolutely no nagging regarding this, so I don't even know how that nagging would show up.Code: Select all

It's better to get your hands on those mscorefonts cleanly, without that useless pollution. Which can be achieved like I described in my how-to.
