Mint Xfce USB bootable is not bootable

Post by Kuen »

Made Mint Xfce 21.3 bootable with PowerISO on 8gb USB.
BIOS of my PC finds no such a bootable.
The machine:
Acer desktop machine, Aspire T3 715
CPU Intel Core i5-6400
RAM DDR4-SDRAM 16GB 2133MHzDDR4-SDRAM
GPU NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950
SSD 128GB C-drive, running Windows 10 Home 64bit, 22H2
HDD D-drive, 3.5" SATA3 HDD 7200rpm 1.0TB

What seems to be the issue, please?

Thanks.

Can you try a different ISO writer, like Mint's USB writer, or Balena Etcher, or Rufus?

Did you check that the iso file you used was a good download as that can be a problem.
It is always worth using a torrent client to download iso files as they check it as it's downloaded and get any faulty packets again.

Talking about torrents, I've had the issue twice with some friends who just downloaded the torrent file from the first link on the download page instead of the REAL iso file (mirros links lower on the page). Did you download the correct file? Does your USB creator check that?

Thank you.
Have the Mint Xfce USB live bootable tested on an old machine used to run Windows Vista and the USB live bootable is normal and good for installation.

The issue is not any download nor the PowerISO. Have the Mint Xfce USB live bootable tested on an old machine used to run Windows Vista and the USB live bootable is normal and good for installation.

Do you have another OS media to try? Or maybe check out the BIOS of your Acer desktop, see if it haven't enabled boot from USB etc.
