Failed to shut down or reboot: systemd-shutdown[1]: Waiting for process: gpu-manager

Post by fronese »

Hello everyone,
I hope you are doing well.

I'm new to Linux and have a dual-boot to Win11 during this beginning.

My issue is that my Linux Mint 21.3 can't turn off or restart. I have to long press the power button every time.

Summary: I use 2 monitors - the built in from Dell G15 + the Acer Agon, but the OS didn't detect the external monitor. So I installed my Nvidia drivers and it worked, I can use both. However this caused a new problem where when I try to shut down or restart, the system fails no matter how long I wait (waited for more than 30m).

Here is what appears when I log off:

The problem disappears when I purge all nvidia drivers, but then I go back to the problem where I can't use both monitors. Using nvidia-driver-550 and kernel: 6.5.0-26-generic.
