How to set the plank permanently on over the other windows?

Hello. Usually when plank has been set to "never hide" it will make a gap like this and it really looks terrible:

My question is: Do you know guys how or if that's even possible somehow to set it up on "never hide", but at the same time enforce all other windows to go under it so it stays like this all the time instead of autohide?:

I aim to have something like this:

Very minimalistic and modern look. Any suggestions folks?

Hi NewBoyHere,
You can make it always visible by entring plank preference > tab behavior.
To enter plank preferences, do right click on the space between icons in plank (it's tricky for some theme).
Or run this command:

Code: Select all

plank --preferences

Or ctrl right-click anywhere on plank...

I know that, but when I do, other windows that are open don't go to the bottom of the screen. I want to set it up such a way that it goes down to the bottom, and having dock on the top (above the other windows) like on the screenshots I provided.

I am sure the overlapping plank in the picture is over unfocused window. You can try it. Anyway, that's not a good idea to get your dock overlapping maximized window you currently using.
