[SOLVED] Bluetooth Mint 22

Post by MarcMA »

Hi All,
I'm sure I an missing something obvious... Beelink SER8 computer: Under 21.3 with fimware6.8, bluetooth audio worked - audio from firefox was sent to bluetooth speakers. Upgraded to Wilma yesterday (went perfectly, with all functions working with one exception: bluetooth) by following Linux Mint instructions. However, bluetooth does not work anymore. The device is found, and when I try to connect the connection is made and within 2 seconds they disconnect. No audio makes it across. Here is my system report:

Re: Bluetooth Mint 22

I had a similar issue with 2 of my mini PCs (a Beelink and a Trigkey) with connections to bluetooth headphones with error message ¨connection error no audio endpoint registered¨ after upgrading to Mint 22 from 21.3

My fix was to remove the bluez protocol stack and the blueman manager and reinstall both which seems to rebuild some default Bluetooth audio config files automatically that were missing. It worked on both mini PCs.

At the terminal type:

1. sudo apt purge bluez
2. sudo apt install bluez
3. sudo apt install blueman
4. reboot

I also replaced the new default pipewire server used by Mint 2 by the older pulseaudio sound server to fix an issue with no HDMI sound. Might not be related to the Bluetooth issue.

Thank you! As you suggested, at the terminal I typed:
1. sudo apt purge bluez
2. sudo apt install bluez
3. sudo apt install blueman

Then a reboot.

And after much back and forth with the Bluetooth manager it finally connected and send audio to the bluetooth device (audio from Firefox). :)

I had just finished booting into the live USB and the bluetooth function worked so my next step was to overwrite the upgrade with a fresh load Mint 22 from scratch rather then an upgrade. Was not looking forward to that. I'm guessing the upgrade didn't go quite the way it was designed.

In any case, Thanks again - appreciate your help!

After spending a chunk of time trying various approaches, this straightforward and effective solution did the trick.
Your four steps were all that I needed.
Thank you for taking the time to post.

Thank you.

I did those steps,

Then I plugged in the motherboard wifi antennas, and now my bluetooth headphones are working.!

I suspect my issue was not having plugged the wifi antennas in (MSI B550M Pro VDH Motherboard) though.
