I have not heard anything about a netbook remix. I would not be able to test it anyway because I do not have a netbook.

bigBuckets, that is some very good advice. The screen shots in that thread look awesome!

I wish somebody would tell me what's the point, because I can't see one
I've tried UNR 9.10 on a USB key and, fair enough, it's easy to launch apps but there are still so many tiny things to read, and tiny targets to hit with the mouse pointer that's it's no easier than a normal desktop OS, IMHO.
For someone who likes to copy files with drag and drop the whole things is VERY frustrating when all windows are always maximised.
And on my version the shutdown menu (top right icon) doesn't work, even ctrl-alt-del takes a few tries usually before I get the chance to shutdown cleanly.
I much prefer using conventional Mint on my netbook.

I got tired of the netbook launcher. It was just to busy and cluttered for me ( yes I know thats the point ). Plus I didn't like that my wallpaper was always blocked.
My new netbook setup is to use maximus, window picker applet and cairo dock. I like it alot better.

Yeah, I eventually grew tired of the huge netbook launcher since mintMenu can be just as fast.

I just found this link:

NameBar and the Meerkat addon for Firefox are nice.

I was annoyed that Maximus would maximize some programs like Terminal so I found this:

Open gconf-editor >> apps >> maximus >> check nomaximize

edit: Meerkat no longer works in Firefox 3.6 - I hope it gets updated.
