This program is not made specifically to play .pls files, but it seems VLC Media Player is able to play them just fine from what I've read on the webs. Again, I have no experience with this type of file, but I suppose it wouldn't hurt to try it out.

Rhythmbox plays pls files perfectly.
Click on Music>New internet radio station>{insert web address here}
Pls files aren't music files, they are the link to the playlist file of the online radio station.
